Day 9

January 9th, 2010 → 8:05 pm @ // No Comments

Today was tough, especially in the morning. I had labs to do today so I had to go to the hospital with no fuel in me. I was ok for awhile but the body is very sensitive to low sugar levels and in just a short while I was outta gas. A quick stop at Jamba Juice and a power carrot orange juice did the trick. I was also without my morning coffee which contributed to the difficult morning. I did have my coffee fix when I got home but since I am cutting the coffee back, it still was a bumpy day for me.

I slept very well last night and did not want to get up this morning for labs. I would have done the labs earlier in the week but having the new baby threw the schedule off a bit. 7 days of transition and 1 day of actual juice fasting is not going to change my blood too much from what it was before I started on Jan 1st. I did not feel really good today until after my evening workout which was incredibly easy. I rode the indoor trainer on the highest setting for 50 minutes and it felt Sooo….easy. I am certain that the lack of sleep earlier in the week and the lack of workouts contribute to the low energy I had today.

In addition, I am continuing to have mild cleansing reactions and had a lot of mucosal draining today with cold like symptoms. I also had about 2 hours where the roof of my mouth was itching like it does during allergy season if I am really toxic. If I have been disciplined in my eating (mostly alkaline forming foods) and exercise I do not get allergies at all. But if my pH is outta wack and the blood is dirty, I get them around the middle of April all the way through May. This is the first time I have experienced the allergy symptoms on a juice fast, However, I know that symptoms can vary dramatically.

If my expectations are correct I should have a pretty good surge of energy within the next few days, provided that I get enough rest and keep pouring in the juice. Mentally I was a bit cranky until early evening. Wasn’t feeling very tuned in spiritually today…..thats the way it goes sometimes.
